Huntsville won 12-0 over Nacogdoches on Tuesday, 3/26.
A sacrafice bunt by Aariss McHale put the Hornets on the board in the top of the first. Followed by Katie Vonrosenberg hitting a sacrafice fly in the 3rd to put Huntsville up 3-0.
After that, the Hornets took it from there scoing 5 runs on four hits in the top of the 4th inning when Emily Zunker doubled schoring two runs, McHale Hitting a sacrafice fly to score one run, and Vonrosenberg singling scoring two more.
JJ Duke earned the win for Huntsville in the circle, surrendering one hit on zero runs and striking out 8. Rylie Hammond came in in relief and shut out the Dragons as well striking out 1 and allowing 0 walks, 0 hits, and 0 runs scored.
Vonrosenberg provided pop in the lineup for the Hornets with four runs batted in. She went 1-3 on the day. Zunker made the most of her chances at the plate as well leading the team with two hits in three at bats. The Hornets were disciplined at the plate racking up 7 walks in the game as well as stealing several bases.
