BAD WEATHER POLICY
The Athletic Training Staff will monitor all weather conditions while keeping student-athletes safe. There are times when it is not safe for our athletes to be outside practicing or playing. We monitor conditions using our weather service including: lightning, weather center warnings or watches, and other bad weather conditions. In the case that lightning is within 10 miles of the event, we will clear the field and send athletes either inside a building with plumbing or on a school bus. Once activities have been suspended, the all clear will come at least thirty (30) minutes following the last sound of thunder or lightning flash prior to resuming an activity.
On the condition there is a weather warning or bad weather, the event will be delayed until it is deemed safe to continue. Safety of all student-athletes is the first priority for the athletic training staff in determining whether to delay an activity or cancel it.
