As the Varsity Girls' Golf season comes to a close, two of the Lady Hornets advance to the Regional Golf Tournament as medalists. It was an exciting finish with three players tied for second medalist honors. The tie breaker was in the form of a sudden death playoff, and it took five holes to declare the winner. Kiera Smith and Cassidy Pool edged out Remme Trujillo of Porter High School early in the playoff and took additional holes to eventually declare the winning spot. Kiera won the fifth playoff hole to take individual honors, and Cassidy was awarded the alternate spot. The Regional Golf Tournament will take place in Rockwall on April 17 and 18. If you see them around town, be sure to congratulate them on their outstanding performances and wish them well on the upcoming tournament.
