Katie Vonrosenberg went 3-for-3 at the plate as the Hornets defeated Jasper 10-4 on Friday night. Vonrosenberg singled in the 1st inning, singled in the 2nd inning, and again in the 5th inning.
Huntsville took the lead 3-1 in the bottom of the first thanks to singles by Vonrosenberg and Kali Klawinsky. The Hornets added to their lead in the bottom of the second when Jaelynn Duke tripled scoring one run and Chloe Sanders grounded into a fielders choice scoring two runs.
Rylie Hammond earned the win for the Hornets surrendering 5 hits on 3 runs and striking out 1. Jaelynn Duke came in for 4 innings of relief for Huntsville. The reliever gave up two hits and 1 run while striking out 11.
Huntsville tallied 15 hits in the game. Klawinsky and Vonrsenberg each collected 3 hits for the Hornets. Duke, Sanders, and Kloee Lehman each collected multiple hits as well. The Hornets were sure handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
