Game 1: vs. St Agnes Academy (W 7-5)
Huntsville built a 6 run lead in the 4th inning to hold off the Tigers late charge and secure a 7-5 victory over St. Agnes. The Lady Hornets got on the board in the first after Khloe Klawinsky hit a single to score one and then added some insurance later on by JJ Duke & Kali Klawinsky each hitting a sac fly and Jaz Enriquez singling to drive in runs.
Aariss McHale homered to score two more runs in the top of the fourth for the Lady Hornets while Duke earned the win in the circle for Huntsville. Huntsville collected 11 hits in the game and Klawinsky led at the plate for huntsville going 3-3 while Enriquez collected 2 hits for the Lady Hornets. Duke stole 2 bases to lead the team and cause chaos in the field.
Game 2: vs. Mayde Creek (W 11-1)
JJ Duke had herself a day driving in 4 runs on 3 hits to lead the Lady Hornets past the Rams on Saturday. Duke kicked things off as the hit a solo home run to start off the game to straight away center field. She would go on to score two in the 3rd inning on a single and score one on a double later on.
Katie Vonrosenberg, Rylie Hammond, Khloe Klawinsky, Kali Klawinsky, and Jaz Enriquez all contributed at the plate as well driving in 5 RBIs for the team. Duke earned the win for Huntsville. She surrendered zero hits and zero runs in two innings of work while striking out 5. Hammond cam in in relief for the Hornets and continued to shut it down in the circle.
The Hornets were sure handed in the field and did not commit a single error and stole 8 bases on the Rams to keep the offense in motion.
The Lady Hornets return to action as they travel to the Tyler Tournament this weekend Thursday - Saturday at Whitehouse High School. Until then, Sting 'Em!!
