Huntsville vs Brenham, a non-district game, but another good high school football game. This series is
great for both programs. It tested the will of both schools as we begin the 2024 season.
The game started strong for the Cubs as they jumped to an early 15-0 lead. The Hornets fought back
and took a ten-point lead into the fourth quarter. Mistakes by the Hornets and a really strong
performance by the Brenham running back allowed the Cubs to win the fourth quarter and ultimately
win the game 39-35. Both programs represented themselves well and will be a force in their respective
districts.
The Hornet Offense was led by RB Trae’ Shawn Brown with 18 rushing attempts for 139 yards and 2 TDs.
The Hornet Defense was led by CB Kenneth Scott with 7 tackles and 1 pass interception.

The Hornets are back in action this Friday, September 6th vs the Bryan Vikings. It is a 7:00 pm kickoff and
it is Senior Night. Come out and support your Hornets.
