Game 1: vs. Hughes Springs (W 6-1)
Huntsville ousted Hughes Springs 6-1 on Thursday. The Lady Hornets opened up the top of the second thanks to 4 doubles. JJ Duke doubled first and scored one run to jumpstart the offense for the day.
Rylie Hammond earned the win for the Hornets. She allowed 4 hits on one run over four innings of work and striking out one.
Huntsville put together 11 hits in the game with Duke, Katie Vonrosenberg, Aariss McHale, and Chloe Sanders all collecting two hits. Khloe Klawinsky and McHale each drove in 2 RBIs at the plate as well. Huntsville was sure handed and did not commit a single error in the field.
Game 1: vs. Whitehouse (W 5-3)
JJ Duke hit a 2 run home run and drove in 4 RBIs to help the Hornets defeat Whitehouse 5-3 on Thursday night. Duke homered in the third and then again in the fourth inning.
Huntsville didn't take the lead until later in the game but managed to put up 3 runs in the fourth inning to secure the win. Jaz Enriquez had a clutch single to help spark the late 4th inning rally & Duke capped it off with an in the park home run.
Duke earned the win in the circle for the Hornets giving up 2 earned run and striking out 4.
The Lady Hornets will complete the Tyler Tournament on Saturday as they return to Whitehouse to finish up 3 games in tournament play.
