4:00 vs Bridgeland: (L 4-2)
Huntsville lost the lead late in a 4-2 loss to the Bears at LCHS on Tuesday. The game was tied at two in the top of the 5th when the Bears scored two. Huntsville opened the scoring in the third after JJ Duke homered to right center field, scoring two runs for the Hornets. Duke went 3 2/3 innings in the circle giving up two runs on two hits and striking out four while waking three. Duke & Valerie Martin each collected one hit for the Lady Hornets. Duke went 1-2 at the plate as the leadoff hitter leading the team with two runs batted in.
7:00 vs Lake Creek: (W 5-4)
Huntsville was the first to get on the board in the top of the first as Katie Vonrosenberg singled to score one run. Lake Creek would make the score 4-1 in the bottom of the first after a couple costly errors and good hitting. However, Huntsville did not give up and in the top of the 3rd inning they started a rally. Katie Vonrosenberg hit a triple down the right field line to score two after a single after a single by Aariss McHale and a sacrafice bunt by Chloe Sanders. The winning RBI was plated by a wild pitch ball four to Rylie Hammond who scored the RBI as she advanced to second. Jaelynn Duke earned the win in the circle for the Hornets. The righty surrendered 5 hits and 4 runs over three innings while striking out 6 and only allowing 2 free passes. Vonrosenberg drove the middle of the lineup for Huntsville with 2 RBIS. The cleanup hitter went 2-3 on the day. Both Vonrosenberg & McHale collected two hits for the Lady Hornets.
Huntsville returns back to action this weekend as they play host to Livingston & Willis on Friday in a tri-scrimmage. Scrimmage times are scheduled for 4:00, 5:30, & 7:00.
